It is becoming popular to have the speeches before the meal. Those making the speeches can then relax and enjoy their meal too. Ladies are making speeches too - let the chief bridesmaid compete with the best man!

One of my favourite traditions is called 'parrying up'. During the wedding service local children tie up the gates of the church with rope and, when the newly weds come out, they have to throw money to the children before they are let out. It usually results in a mad scramble for the money!
